The Florida Region of the Christian Church (Disciples of
Christ) understands our call as a Region to care for our clergy. The pastoral
calling is one of great joy and fulfillment however, it can also be a
challenging and difficult journey. The Clergy Assistance Fund allows the
Florida Region to assist clergy during times of crisis. These may include unexpected medical
expenses, financial hardships due to natural disasters, or other financial
challenges.
The Florida Region has policies in place for distribution of
these funds. The funds are administered confidentially by the Regional Minister
in collaboration with the Commission on Ministry. Contact the Regional Minister
for more information.
The fund was initially seeded with monies set aside for
Emergency Response Grants. The fund is replenished through the encouraging of
special offerings at all Clergy Ordination and Installation services in the
Region. Designated gifts are also received from individuals and congregations
through the year.
