past two years, has shown growing dedication to God and to the work of your
congregation? Someone who has served in
ways that go above and beyond what is expected?
THIS NOMINATION MAY BE COMPLETED AND SENT BY LEADERS OF YOUR DISCIPLES MEN’S FELLOWSHIP, YOUR PASTOR, CHAIRPERSON OF YOUR CONGREGATION, OR ELDERS.
GUIDELINES FOR LAYMAN OF THE
YEAR AWARD:
1. Must be an active member of a Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) congregation in the Region of Florida.
2. One who is serving or has served his local church in some leadership role: a committee, worship, Christian education,
Deacon or Elder, etc.
3. One who has demonstrated stewardship of time and talent through volunteer work in his Congregation, the FL. Regional
Church, Florida Disciples Men Programs or in his local community. (i.e. Habitat for Humanity, Food Pantries, Youth
Programs etc.)
4. One who serves with exemplary character and sets an example for others as a Christian in his daily life.
5. Must not presently be serving on the Regional FL. Disciples Men Commission as an “Elected Officer”. (I.e. President,
Vice Pres., Immediate Past President, Treasurer or Secretary.
6. Nomination must be based on the candidate’s past two years of service.
This nomination will be kept on file for a period of two years. If the nominee is not selected within two years, the person who submitted the nomination will be contacted, they will have the opportunity to re-submit the nomination, if they so choose.
