“God’s
love visible!” That’s the theme for the 2024 Christmas Offering to support
regional ministries. As I look across the region, I see so many ways God’s love
is visible. It’s visible when our children, youth, and young adults gather for
camps and conferences to live in Christian community and learn about the love
of God in Jesus Christ. It’s visible in our new congregations as they seek to
reach new generations of Disciples, and in our established congregations as
they continue to find opportunities for being and sharing the Good News with
their communities. God’s love is visible as I work with congregations in
transition, be it as they are seeking their next pastor, wrestling with hard
conversations. It’s visible in the faces, stories, and gifts of our candidates
for ministry that we get to know through the Commission on Ministry. And God’s
love is visible whenever and wherever the Florida Disciples Regional Church
gathers together.
As you may know, the Christmas Offering is one of 6 Special Offerings received during the year. The others are Easter, Pentecost, Thanksgiving, Week of Compassion, and Reconciliation. But what is unique about the Christmas offering is that 100% of the Christmas offering supports our regional ministries.
