It's time to find qualified individuals to serve as volunteers. We need adult volunteers who can spend 5 - 7 days changing the lives of children and youth for God. What makes someone "qualified"? Do you love God? Are you willing to share how your faith guides you everyday? Are you patient and kind? Wilderness is a time or place where we encounter what is
new, strange, scary, lonely, unknown or mysterious. The wilderness is a wild
and beautiful time and place where we can discover the sacred within each
person and all creation. The wilderness can inspire us and guide us, assuring
us of God’s constant presence. As the Spirit guides us through the wilderness,
we find what we need to face our fears and the very real challenges that impact
our world. The wilderness teaches us the importance of community and the ways
we navigate challenges together. The wilderness reveals our strengths, growing
edges, and potential as God equips us for the unknown still to come. The
wilderness awaits us all, and God meets us there.
The Florida Disciples Regional Church sponsors various youth camps throughout the year at its own camp and conference center, The Retreat at Silver Springs, located in Silver Springs, Florida. In the summer, various residential camp sessions are offered at The Retreat for ages 5 through 18 (recent high school graduates).
Summer camps are organized by the Outdoor Ministries Commission of the Florida Disciples Regional Church and implemented entirely by dedicated volunteers made up of former campers, pastors, parents and young adults from around the Region. This program invites campers to explore, learn, and have adventures on The Retreat's holy grounds that contain an outdoor chapel, outdoor labyrinth, outdoor swimming pool, a butterfly garden, hiking trails, wildlife and so much more!
Winter Family Camp takes place February 14 - 16 and is for the whole family.
